This page showcases excerpts from my notebooks, many of which I have written in the past.
You wanna know an easy way to gauge an individual’s willpower in the modern times we’re living in? The escalator. Next time you’re in a public space, and you see a flight of stairs with an escalator beside it going the same way. Just watch and see how many people wish to be lifted to the top, rather than putting themselves into action to gain the same results. Always take the stairs. Don’t choose novelty and lose what it means to be a vessel. Love you, I hope all is well. School starting soon for me, I’m excited to see my homies and to do new stuff. Peace!
Today I went to the park in the morning to shoot some hoops and read. It was very calm, I shot good and got a good lil session in. I read a chapter of 'Knowledge of Self' in the park grass. I was sure to scout my surrounding space for dog or goose shit. I ended up finding a good spot and got my dogs in the grass! A lady and her grandson were playing with a beach ball, and it got stuck in the basketball hoop. She asked me if I had a ball so she could get hers down, I gave her mine to use. They were nice people, very trusting. The grandson was cool too, bro had great manners. I'm thinking about the fact that if I wasn't there, their beach ball would've stayed stuck in the hoop. So I'm glad I went. Aside from that, I read, watched 'Cars' and stayed still. I miss having a girl with me, but soon it shall be so, and would I really want it then? Yes!
What does it cost to live? Does it include dollar signs, expenses, and purchases? How about food, water, and necessities needed to sustain your life? If I had to choose from the two options, it would be the latter. But my own answer differs from both. The cost of living isn't anything that is external from you. Choosing to really live takes life and energy out of you, but it returns it back to you tenfold. It's like a great investment. The more you put in, the better the return. To put yourself on the line, and to wander the unknown courageously, that is living. Ultimately whether living has a cost is up to the individual to discern. I'd rather think of it as the 'gift' of living rather than the cost, that way you take no L's.
I would never assume the worst case scenario in any situation I find to be challenging. Face the shitty news head on, assess for a brief moment, and move forward. If you stay and assess for any longer than a moment, you will no longer have control over the decision you make next. It would be as if you relinquished your free will to your thoughts, letting them run wild, filling your psyche with scenarios that will never happen, ultimately because you are afraid of taking that first step for yourself. It may seem daunting and sometimes impossible, but you will eventually learn to let life pass through you. Be a conduit for change, creativity, love and peace. Be who you are. Don't search for anything outside of yourself.
I had a dream the other day that I was in the NFL. I was so close to catching a pick six brooo! It was tuff tho, it felt very real. Smoking 1 - 2.5 hours before you sleep is not the move. Smoking at noon is the best time, if you want deep sleep/REM dreams later at night. Smoking weed does make you hungry and crave a lot more food, food you otherwise wouldn't eat under normal circumstances. I read two chapters of the Gita today. Very interesting. Ima go back tomorrow and check all of the other books out. But tonight ima get back into James Allen. Hope you're well, stay centered, do the best you can.
The snow falls and lands tenderly on the concrete floor. Powdering any and every surface, nothing will be exempt from the ice. Everything stuck in the sky will eventually find its way down. The snow, taking form beautifully, and maintaining its geometry as it descends, surely to melt away. It makes its presence ever known, multiplying itself, often falling heavier at certain points of the day. How could I see amongst the flurry of nonsense? Looking ahead, past the storm that beckons before me, it appears rather brash and untamable. But, when you bring your focus to the snowflakes themselves, you’ll begin to see their preternatural shapes intuitively as they fall. You switched your perspective on how you interpret the severity of the storm. Once an unbearable showcase of mother nature’s power, turned to a showcase of her blessings among man, there to remind them of her presence, and the divine laws.
Why should I blame you for your faults? Was it up to you to choose where you fall? No, but with your decisions you make the call. You chose what to say, and how to say it. In case you haven't noticed, it was you who made the game, and picked out whom you wanted to play it. So move the pieces around, change what you see fit to reach that which you desire. Keep your eye ever on the star, careful not to drown in the mire.
My favorite dog Fofa passed away in my bed this morning at around 6:22 am. She had a heart disease that caused fluid build up in her lungs, and irregular breathing. It's like her symptoms worsened overnight. One day she was excited, eager and lively, and the next she was fatigued, drained, and bed-ridden. In her last waking hours she fought to stay alive. As I stayed with her I wondered what she was clinging on to, was it food? Me? Life itself? I'll never know. She did well though, she was tough, and tried her best. She took about 3 long deep breaths before she passed over. Fofa was our first dog, born in Cape Verde, and brought to America. She taught me lessons on life, and showed me how to be a kinder, more gentle, being. She was the goat. Love you Fofa - Ni.
